Process to Course Cross Reference

ITIL V3 has many certification courses to choose from and trying to pick the right one can be challenging.  According to APMG (the Official Accreditor) each ITIL V3 course must provide a specified amount of contact time per process.  The contact time determines the depth of knowledge (Bloom Level) for the process in each course and is outlined in the APMG course syllabus.  You can find all the course syllabi at the Official ITIL Site.

To help you decide which course to select we have created a helpful cross reference (see figure) that is based on the total amount of time allocated for each process for each course.  For example OSA studies the Incident Management process for 4.5 hours and Service Operation studies it for 1.4 hours.  In general ITSM practitioners, consultants and Process Managers should have a detailed understanding provided by the Capability stream (PPO, SOA, RCV, OSA).
